Our impact and influence in our community, as leaders or aspiring leaders, is limited by how well we actively listen and “draw people out." Without these empathetic skills or knowledge to connect with anyone, we limit our influence in the world because empathy and listening is a Biblical virtue. However, if we embrace these empathetic skills, we will become more like Jesus, who was slow to speak and quick to listen — to the poor, the needy, those without a voice, and to the Father. In this workshop led by Greg Dillon, certified coach and trainer, we learn to lead by listening, just like Jesus, our King.
ICOC US SCUAD Virtual Prayer Vigil

The ICOC US SCUAD (Social Cultural Unity and Diversity) Committee held a virtual prayer vigil in light of difficult events surrounding race relations in the US this past year. Disciples from around the ICOC in the US prayed, sang, and read Psalms during this time of lament, worship and unity.

Unfortunately, the murder of George Floyd, although shocking, is not surprising, given recent and not so recent incidents. So, the question is, “How did we get here and what do we do now?”
